The Carling League of Champions is celebrating its fifth year milestone in celebrating community champions since 2012. By staying true to the brands aim of making ordinary men feel like champions, this community focused tournament has successfully created a platform for players and coaches to be recognized within their respective communities. As the tournament kicks off the fifth year, its unique identity of bringing football to communities across South Africa has given birth to what is growing to becoming one of the most recognised social football leagues in the country.
How It Works
Participating taverns receive a Carling Black label sales target, which requires the tavern to grow their business by increasing their sales versus the previous year. Carling Black Label empowers these tavern owners with the tools to grow their business, with the top participating outlets measured and ranked on a weekly basis. The top 60 outlets nationally then have their respective community teams participating in the League of Champions tournament in their province. The top 6 teams that have won within their region then travel to Gauteng to compete for the National crown at the Champions festival. The ultimate winner from the 6 teams wins an all-expenses paid trip to the Carlin Black Label Champion Cup as well as well as R30 000 cash prize.
